Within the confines of contemporary art emerges a space that vibrates with ceaseless relationships, even when apparent meaning seems elusive. Visitors are propelled into an imaginative realm, where their virtual selves spark both curiosity and tension. It's an invitation to traverse new temporal dimensions, in eager anticipation of the self one might encounter.
At either end of the gallery, mirrors create an illusion of infinity, offering an immersive experience of boundless space — a poignant symbol of emptiness yet full of potential. Traditional columns, interconnected using time-honoured techniques, stand as silent sentinels. Their symbolism is profound, representing the mutual dependence inherent in human relationships, our interconnectedness and communal support structures.
The columns, stripped of their colour to a pristine white, cast a universal path for humanity. It's the artist's vision of a journey — inclusive and universal. As one's reflection bounces into eternity, the resonant chime of the Bell of King Seongdeok, crafted in 771 AD, permeates the space. More than just a sound, its echo, reminiscent of a human heartbeat, serves as a call for reconciliation, offering wisdom and unity against the ever-present barriers of prejudice and division in our world.
